Liberal re-education #2: Why will you pay a 2.5% tax for NOT taking government health care?

August 28, 2010 - 5:07 am 9 Comments

Quote from HR3200:

‘‘(a) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of—

(1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over

(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer. . . .”

Why punish those who make a free and valid choice of not wanting insurance coverage at all?
In other words, you MUST pay hundreds of dollars per month for insurance you probably won’t use, or else you will be penalized by the government for not taking government health care.

What’s it to you? You understand this is NOT a final bill, right? Just tell us you know that!

Have you read what’s in HR3200, the House 0bamcare Bill?

August 28, 2010 - 5:07 am 9 Comments

DIRECT QUOTES FROM THE BILL

WILL IT RATION MEDICAL CARE? See pages 284-288, SEC. 1151:
‘(ii) EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN READMISSIONS.—For purposes of clause (i), with respect to a hospital, excess readmissions shall not include readmissions for an applicable condition for which there are fewer than a minimum number (as determined by the Secretary) of discharges for such applicable condition for the applicable period and such hospital.

WILL IT PUNISH AMERICANS WHO TRY TO OPT OUT? Pages 167-168, section 401:
‘‘(a) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent

WILL HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS BE ILLEGAL? Pages 26-30, SEC. 122:
(A) IN GENERAL.—The cost-sharing under the essential benefits package shall be designed to provide a level of coverage that is designed to provide benefits that are actuarially equivalent to approximately 70 percent of the full actuarial value of the benefits provided under the reference benefits package . . .

WILL IT DESTROY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE? Pages 149-150, SEC. 313:
(a) IN GENERAL.—A contribution [a tax on business, with payrolls over $400,000 per year] is made in accordance with this section with respect to an employee if such contribution is equal to an amount equal to 8 percent of the average wages paid by the employer during the period of enrollment (determined by taking into account all employees of the employer and in such manner as the Commissioner provides, including rules providing for the appropriate aggregation of related employers). Any such contribution—
[Business that now provide health coverage will be encouraged drop the plan, enroll their employees in the government plan, and pay the 8% “contribution.”)

DOES THE GOVERNMENT SET FEES FOR SERVICES? Page 124, Sec. 223:
(d) CONSTRUCTION.—Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed as limiting the Secretary’s authority to correct for payments that are excessive or deficient . . .
(e) CONSTRUCTION.—Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed as affecting the authority of the Secretary to establish payment rates . . .
(f) LIMITATIONS ON REVIEW.—There shall be no administrative or judicial review of a payment rate or methodology established under this section or under section 224.

CAN THE GOVERNMENT SEE OUR PRIVATE FINANCES? Pages 195-196, SEC. 431
‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary, upon written request from the Health Choices Commissioner or the head of a State-based health insurance exchange approved for operation under section 208 of the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, shall disclose to officers and employees of the Health Choices Administration or such State-based health insurance exchange, as the case may be, return information of any taxpayer . . .
[and] ‘‘(v) such other information as is prescribed by the Secretary by regulation as might indicate whether the taxpayer is eligible for such affordability credits . . .

As usual, libs resort to Alinsky Rule 5 – "Ridicule" instead of defending this POS.

I’ve read part of it. You forgot page 30, section 123 about the GOVERNMENT committee that decides patient treatment and page 59, lines 21-24 that gives the GOVERNMENT direct access to our bank accounts for electronic fund transfer and page 425, lines 4-19 where it talks about the advance care planning consults that are mandatory.

How is it the GOVERNMENT’S business about my living will/power of attorney/treatment? What gives them the right to say that a 40 year old has more worth than a 65 year old?

This is really scary! No wonder it only has a 43% approval. It’s a dangerous scam!

Isn’t Obama suppose to uphold our Constitution as he swore to do?

August 28, 2010 - 5:07 am 19 Comments

Where in the constitution are Czars allowed to subvert congress and Executive Orders used to pass what the congress refuses?

Also: Article 1, Section 7 – All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.

First Amendment (Establishment Clause) and Fourteenth Amendment (Equal Protection Clause) – [Quote: "Exempts from the coverage requirement individuals who object to health care coverage on religious grounds"]: Although the courts allowed the Amish not to pay Social Security tax, this bill would be different if it exempts the Amish and Muslims from participating in the system while forcing the Catholics to participate in it.

Article 1, sections 1 and 8 (Powers of the Congress) and Article 5 (Procedure to Amend the Constitution) – [Quote: "It shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection."] – The quoted text effectively amends the Constitution and abridges the law-making authority of Congress. This has been done without two-thirds majority.

Article 1, Section 8 (Commerce Clause) – The commerce clause grants rights to regulate interstate commerce, not intrastate commerce (health insurance is not interstate commerce since you cannot buy it across state lines). Secondly, not buying insurance is not commerce.

Fourth Amendment – The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated

Fifth Amendment – nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Tenth Amendment – The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

You nailed it on the head. It appears that the constitution had been relegated to a frequently ignored set of suggestions about how the government should run.

If health care for individuals is so expensive, why can I find a policy for $173 a month?

August 28, 2010 - 5:07 am 22 Comments

This policy was found at http://www.assuranthealth.com. Why can’t the government give a tax credit to the poor for around $2500 vs. redoing the whole insurance industry?

How much would your policy cost…… Find out at

This policy is meant for catastropic coverage folks. If you want to see what a policy costs that pays every dime of health care then run the cost calculator on assurant health’s web site.

Because that would be more economical and involve less government and that snot what the most unethical congress is about! spend, and skim is their mantra
