The Medical tourism was arranged by a medical tourism organization and proved to be the best way to handle unanticipated concerns such as understanding the best location for good pricing as well as the best locations for the medical work to be done, air travel, medical records transfer, and Indian visa to mention a few. After a couple of years of searching the internet and even driving 1,000 miles a week round trip for 6 weeks to Mexico to get affordable dental work done. I could have saved thousands of dollars even over going to Mexico had I known about India earlier, and would have had better care at better facilities. Of course, now, as a result, I have friends in India, especially Dr Palak Pandya, my Dentist and Dr Ayyappan, a Plastic Surgeon. As I get older I’m sure knowing Dr Ayyappan will be of benefit… Dr Ayyappan, a Yoga
practitioner and meditator (something we had in common), mentioned that he had worked in Hong Kong as part of his background (see: http://indiaheartbeat.com/doctor/profile.php?profile=OTI4NQ==
as a plastic surgeon before returning to India, which allowed me to understand that the International Standards employed in other parts of the world are present here as well.

All in all it proved to me that I don’t have to pay more to get good quality health care – the US Medical System should take note, it would be almost cheaper to fly large a percentage of the Patients in US Hospitals to India, get treatment, and fly them back, than to pay even the admissions costs of getting them treated in the United States. If this sounds like an exaggeration look at it a little closer. Bureaucracy , Profit and Tort reform are in the way of cheaper health care in America.

It seems so easy for America to be heartless to it’s poor and uninsured, they breath the same dirty air, eat the same nutrient deficient foods and get the same maladies as the rest the American population and yet their vote does not count, their needs are glossed over and ignored. Whether
the foot, the hand or the head the body of America needs help.

Dr. Eddie White, JR., DMD

Dr. Edward White, Jr. (Eddie), followed in his fathers footsteps (Dr. Edward White, DDS), graduating from Wando High School in 1978, then Furman University in 1982. He completed his Degree at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dentistry in 1986. Dr. White practiced with Restorative Dentistry Associates in West Ashley for 11 years before opening Sewee Dental Care in 1998. He enjoys all phases of dentistry especially patient education, and meeting new people.

Dr. David Oyster, DMD, MS

Dr. David Oyster, DMD, MS is the only Board-Certified Periodontist East of the Cooper. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1974. After 5 years as a Line Officer (Supply ship and PT Boats!), he left the Navy for Dental School at the University of Florida, graduating in 1985. He then rejoined the Navy serving as a General Dentist for 7 years before going to Bethesda Naval Hospital to complete his Peridontics Residency and Master’s in Oral Biology at George Washington University. He retired from the Navy in 2002. He specializes in the treatment of gum disease, dental implants, cosmetic gum enhancements and oral medicine/biopsy services. Dr. Oyster is an assistant clinical professor at MUSC Periodontics Residency Training Program.

Dr. Kristi Dillard, DMD

Dr. Dillard graduated from the College of Charleston in 1993 and then went on to graduate from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1997. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at MUSC in 1998. Dr. Dillard taught at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry for four years before returning to private practice. She spent time in Japan with her husband while he was serving in the military as an Oral Surgeon. He now works with an established group of oral surgeons locally, in the Mt. Pleasant area. She enjoys all aspects of restorative dentistry.

Insurance
We are happy to file insurance for you as a courtesy. However, we do not participate in any insurance network. Therefore, the patient is responsible for any expenses not covered by the insurance.

Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. Payment arrangements can be made according to treatment plans.

Although we file your dental insurance, payment is due at the time of treatment for your expected portion.
