Obama’s health care plan – in the words of those who are pushing this – and what the impact will be on people who already have private health care coverage through employers or personal investment. Read from the Congressional Budget Office and you decide:

CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation staff worked together to produce a preliminary analysis of the major provisions related to health insurance coverage contained in the Affordable Health Choices Act, drafted by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP). The estimates are based on provisions from title 1 of the draft legislation released by HELP on June 9th. Among other things, the draft legislation would establish insurance exchanges (called gateways) through which individuals and families could purchase health insurance coverage. The proposed bill also would provide federal subsidies to substantially lower the cost of that coverage for some enrollees.

According to our preliminary assessment, enacting the proposal would result in a net increase in federal budget deficits of about $1.0 trillion over the 2010-2019 period. When fully implemented, about 39 million individuals would obtain coverage through the new insurance exchanges. At the same time, the number of people who had coverage through an employer would decline by about 15 million (or roughly 10 percent), and coverage from other sources would fall by about 8 million, so the net decrease in the number of people uninsured would be about 16 million or 17 million.

These new figures do not represent a formal or complete cost estimate for the draft legislation, for several reasons. The estimates provided do not address the entire bill—only the major provisions related to health insurance coverage. Some details have not been estimated yet, and the draft legislation has not been fully reviewed. Also, because expanded eligibility for the Medicaid program may be added at a later date, those figures are not likely to represent the impact that more comprehensive proposals—which might include a significant expansion of Medicaid or other options for subsidizing coverage for those with income below 150 percent of the federal poverty level—would have both on the federal budget and on the extent of insurance coverage.

CBO will continue to work on an ongoing basis with the HELP Committee and the other Senate and House committees involved in health care reform to provide estimates and analyses as legislation is developed.

This health care reform bill will hurt more than it will help. Obamacare will ruin our health care system. If you employer provides you with a “Gold Plated Cadillac” health care plan that you just love, then you are the enemy, or at least your health care plan is, because it will be taxed at an extra 40% for the portion of it that is “excessive” according to the government; they are your keeper, and you will do as they say.

So basically the Socialists in the government are going to equalize health care. They are going to tax those with good plans down to the level of those with crap plans, or no plans at all. They want you, or more accurately your employer, to share the wealth. “Share the wealth”, where have I heard that before?

But of course none of this will ever happen because, according to Obama, “nothing in this plan will require you to change your health care coverage”, and he is right. They will not require you or your employer to change anything; they will instead just make it too expensive for your employer to continue offering you the plan that you now have; they will tax you into submission.

40% tax on individuals in gold-plated, Cadillac health insurance plans is tax on groups of the chronically ill: Med-Vision

Dan Ross, founder and president of Med-Vision, a Tampa-based medical consulting company, asserts that the Senate Finance Committees proposal to impose a 40 percent tax on individuals in gold-plated, Cadillac health insurance plans would be best described as a tax on groups of the chronically ill. With these high-dollar plans priced at $8000 or more for individuals and $21,000 or more for families annually, the proposed tax and other taxes on insurance companies are the latest attempt to raise $774 billion over 10 years to fund healthcare reform.
Some in Washington believe Cadillac plans have lower deductibles and co-payments, but high-dollar plans relate more to misery and sickness from chronic disease, said Ross, who warns that the perception of taxing the guy covered by the rich health plan will backlash into a circular firing squad.
By targeting individuals in groups covering the highest number of sick, the tax will disproportionately affect those in plans offering retiree coverage, populations with older average ages, and residents of states with higher healthcare costs. Plans with lower deductibles and co-payments are producing lower aggregate cost, as evidenced by a national move to medical homes and employer-sponsored on-site health clinics with lower deductibles and co-payments.
Ross, who has 20 years experience in employee benefits, conducted an analysis of 200,000 plan members covered under multiple employer self-funded health plans. The two-year analysis looked at claims totaling $800 million. Among the findings:
•85% of the group (170,000 members) accounted for $155 million or 19% of annual claims. This larger percentage averaged $456 per member.
•15% of the group (30,000 members) accounted for the remaining $645 million or 81% of annual claims. This smaller percentage averaged $10,800 per member.
Med-Vision also points to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which estimate that chronic disease accounts for 75 percent or $1.5 trillion of the national $2 trillion annual healthcare spending. Similarly, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation published that caring for those with chronic disease accounts for 78 percent of health spending.

update… 3 years later… Hey, so i uploaded this video years ago and now the health care debate and change may finally be coming.

Entrenched interests, archaic politics, and a misguided, dim, fear minded groups lie in obstacle of our future. DON’T STOP NOW AMERICA, HEED THIS LESSON OF THIS MAN’S ORDEAL.

Due to a supreme court decision in the mid 1800′s, corporations were extended human rights as an autonomous being. However, it is not a being, and therefore has no way being held criminally liable, and so can easily pay its way out of any legal problem and simply move on while the affected are awarded monetary compensation.

Stand as a united people this fall and support a Health Care Reform that provides a nourishing life to all people in our country. We must start caring about each other, for there is no excuse to not do EVERYTHING you can to save your fellow human being’s life.

Be vocal in your support, spread the word, show this to your friends, or write your representatives this Fall and tell them you support health care reform in 2009!!!! let’s end the first decade of this turbulent millennium with a true peoples reform. Be apart of something great!
