Question: Senator, selling health care coverage in America as a
marketable commodity has become a very profitable industry. Do you
believe health care should be treated as a commodity?

SEN. OBAMA: Well, you know, as I travel around the country, this
is one of the single most frequently asked issues that I get, is the
issue of health care.

It is breaking family budgets. I can’t tell you how many people I
meet who don’t have health insurance. If you’ve got health insurance,
most of you have seen your premiums double over the last eight years.
and your copayments and deductibles have gone up 30 percent just in
the last year alone. And if you’re a small business, it’s a crushing
burden.
So one of the things that I have said from the start of this
campaign is that we have a moral commitment as well as an economic
imperative to do something about the health care crisis that so many
families are facing. So here is what I would do.
If you’ve got health care already, and probably the majority of
you do, then you can keep your plan if you are satisfied with it. You
can keep your choice of doctor. We’re going to work with your
employer to lower the cost of your premiums by up to $2,500 a year.
And we’re going to do it by investing in prevention. We’re going to
do it by making sure that we use information technology so that
medical records are actually on computers instead of you filling forms
out in triplicate when you go to the hospital. That will reduce
medical errors and reduce costs.
If you don’t have health insurance, you’re going to be able to
buy the same kind of insurance

The recent health care bill represents what is likely to turn out to be the most comprehensive health care reform ever, Medicare included. Yet many of its provisions were included in the last minute without serious discussion or debate. And those provisions that have been in all versions of the bill since the outset are likely to have profound, if unintended consequences. In this talk, Professor Epstein will explain why he thinks that the combined weight of these many programs is likely to produce a major implosion in health care services in both the short and the long run. He will also discuss the opportunities lost on health care reform, all of which involved some program of market liberalization with respect to such key matters as interstate competition for insurance, government mandates, and medical licensing and malpractice.

Union thugs close door on Kathy Castors constituents. A fight breaks out while Union thugs push Kathy Castor’s consituents try to enter the room. Kathy Castor ignores the events and attempts to change the focus to support for veterans. The door is then closed and constituents have been locked out.

People outside bang on the door to try and get in.

People yell “BS” when Kathy Castor says we have the most to gain from this Healthcare bill. People yell out saying they pay for their own healthcare.

The meeting turns chaotic.

Georgia Congressman David Scott, who found a swastika painted on a sign near his office just days after a heated exchange about health care reform, appears on “American Morning” to comment that the individual responsible is “very, very dangerous.”

He also reads a letter he received – “Obama joker” letterhead and all – peppered with the N-word. Scott thinks such hate or racism has no precedence in the health care debate. “We need to explain what the public option means without the tension,” he explains, and goes to say that it’s “not a death panel” and does not cover abortions.

He also blames Rush Limbaugh for setting the tone when he wished for President Obama to “fail”.

Man who’s son would be denied health care under Obama’s “Health plan” denounces Dingell as a fraud who would condem his son to death under the Obama/Emanuel plan. Really the “plan” is a cost cutting plan to give more profits to the insurance companies.
The “Plan” bases it’s validity on the same arguments as did Adolph Hitler. That it, is in the interest of the General welfare to kill off the weak and helpless.

I attended a townhall meeting held by my Congressman, Dan Lipinski (D), Illinois, 3rd District. Rep. Lipiniski voted for HR 3962 and asked if someone could tell him how they are forced to go on the public option. I was happy to explain it to him.

I pointed out to the Congressman that we need look no further than Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s own words – she believes it’s fair for people to go to jail if they don’t purchase insurance. I asked Congressman Lipinski two questions:

1) Do you agree with Nancy Pelosi that it’s fair to throw the uninsured in jail? and

2) If the public option is just an option and no one is forced to take it, why are people going to be thrown in jail if they don’t?

For those of you who are surprised to learn that people will be required to buy insurance, and if they don’t they will be fined and jailed, it’s in HR 3962.

I didn’t bother asking about the constitution this time since I was certain that question would be blown off even more readily.

Cameraman J. Mark Campbell talks to Sean Hannity about his horrific experience at a health care town hall meeting in Tampa. He had his own camera knocked out of his hands by union thugs. “This is the worst thing that’s ever happened to me,” he says.

Watching tape of the footage he filmed, he recounted the same union thugs attacking a father with cancers. “They just decided to bumrush,” he says.
