Moments after President Obama’s health care reform address to Congress, Bill O’Reilly and Karl Rove react. here, they debate Obama’s reference to him saying death panels are “a lie, plain and simple.”

In the next segment, White House senior advisor David Axelrod responds to Rove’s comments, and mentions that Sarah Palin is the one who coined the term “death panel” and then called her a hypocrite because she has backed off of the idea. O’Reilly responds by calling the death panel “a dopey idea.”

Marches toward socialism, death panels and health care rationing, oh my! If you’ve been watching the news these days you know that few people seem interested in having a serious debate about our health care industry in America. It would be funny to watch if it weren’t for the fact that 45 million Americans don’t have insurance and the 200 million who do are finding it more difficult to afford. It would be hilarious if we weren’t beholden to the Robber Barons of health insurance monopolies and their shills on Capitol Hill. Are you sick and tired of this mockery that we call a debate? Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says to John King of the proposed health care reform bill: “The vast majority of our members think [it] is a bad idea.”

He adds, “The only thing bipartisan about the measures is the opposition.” And that Democrats “can’t sell [the bill] to their own members.”

King then plays a tape of McConnell saying as Obama was waiting in the wings to enter office: “We fully expect to be a full partner in developing major health care reform.”

Oh, that gotcha journalism!

Also, repeating some of the same talking points in the same interview probably doesn’t help your case, either.

RNC chairman Michael Steele tells Chris Matthews that he defends calling President Obama’s health care plan socialism at the National Press Club as evidenced by his, “Yes, next question” remark.

“This plan is not in the best interest of this nation,” Steele says.

Georgia Congressman David Scott, who found a swastika painted on a sign near his office just days after a heated exchange about health care reform, appears on “American Morning” to comment that the individual responsible is “very, very dangerous.”

He also reads a letter he received – “Obama joker” letterhead and all – peppered with the N-word. Scott thinks such hate or racism has no precedence in the health care debate. “We need to explain what the public option means without the tension,” he explains, and goes to say that it’s “not a death panel” and does not cover abortions.

He also blames Rush Limbaugh for setting the tone when he wished for President Obama to “fail”.
