This year the Clinic will provide over 85,000 free patient visits to the people who need them most. This will hurt union workers who have negotiated good health coverage. They are waking up a little to the betrayal. Let’s move on healthcare. Pick a make or break issue and hammer away at it. I make mine Medicare; no “reform” on the backs of seniors-period! Pick something they have to have to pass this and hammer away your opposition to it. So now what? Got a jerk democrat (or republican) you want rid of? Great, get him out but don’t perpetuate the false left right bull and vote in a republican (or democrat). Don’t just vote for any third party candidate either. My tool is how deep is he into corporate money? The less the better. Hopefully I’ll find some candidates that take none or very little.

This is really disturbing to watch on so many levels . This is also one of the reasons the GOP party has a lower approval rating then our Democratic party . You have far right wacko Michele Bachmann, a religious right Catholic preacher and sitting Republican senators doing some crazy fucken prayer to not just stop this current bill, but ANY real reform that could help people . So basically what they are praying for is the status quo . And what’s the status quo ? 45,000 men, women, and children dieing every year . That’s what these sick are praying for . In addition, their doing it with an even crazier controversial “preacher” . Also, pay attention to one of the Republican senators. He hints somewhat that he wants to do away with the separation between church and state clause in the constitution . People should be very, very worried that nuts like these could control the house, senate, and maybe even worse, the W.H.

Former President Bill Clinton responded to comments made by fellow former President Jimmy Carter about criticism to President Obama, on “Larry King Live.”

“I believe that some of the right wing extremists which oppose President Obama are also racially prejudiced, and prefer not to have an African-American President,” Clinton said, but did not say that all of the right wing share that view. “We should disaggregate lingering problems of discrimination from the attacks,” he said.

Clinton also said that while he didn’t think Carter was wrong to share his views, he’s “exceedingly sensitive” being a “white Southerner.”

Ron Paul rejects universal health care, believing that the more government interferes in medicine, the higher prices rise and the less efficient care becomes.

He points to how many people today are upset with the HMO system, but few people realize that HMOs came about because of a federal mandate in 1973. He also points to the 1974 ERISA law that grants tax benefits to employers for providing insurance but not individuals; he prefers a system which grants tax credits to individuals. He supports the U.S. converting to a free market health care system, saying in an interview on New Hampshire NPR that the present system is akin to a “corporatist-fascist” system which keeps prices high. He says that in industries with freer markets prices go down due to technological innovation, but because of the corporatist system, this is prevented from happening in health care. He opposes socialized health care promoted by Democrats as being harmful because they lead to bigger and less efficient government.

Paul has said that although he prefers tax credits to socialized medicine, he would be willing to “prop up” the current systems of Medicare and Medicaid with money saved by bringing troops home from foreign bases in places such as those in South Korea.
